In most cases, diesel truck battery cables should be at 2/0 if it’s connected to a significant draw. Also, the longer the wire, the more resistance it will have. A 10-gauge wire that’s good at 30 amps at 7 feet might drop down to only 15 amps at 15 feet, so longer wiring must have a larger diameter.
